Inscriptions are the major source of Information in understanding the Social History of India, especially Tamil Nadu. The main purpose of this project is to share this information with the world-wide audience interested in the social history of Tamil Nadu and India.

S. Ramachandran is a prominent Epigraphist and Archaeologist. Teaming with the specialists in Information Technology and Electronic Archival systems, he shares the significant information found in the inscriptions. His interpretations on these findings give us a thorough insight about the social institutions of Tamil Nadu.

We hope that this project is a great step towards the democratization of Information in Tamil.

இந்தியாவின், குறிப்பாகத் தமிழகத்தின் சமூக வரலாற்றை அறிவிப்பதில் கல்வெட்டுகள், ஓலைச்சுவடிகள் மற்றும் செப்புப் பட்டயங்கள் முக்கியப் பங்கு வகிக்கின்றன. தமிழகத்தின் சமூக வாழ்வில் பல்வேறு காலகட்டங்களிலும் நடைபெற்ற நிகழ்வுகள் பலவும் கல்வெட்டுகளாகப் பொறிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன. இச் செய்திகளை உலகெங்குமுள்ள தமிழ்ச் சமூக வரலாற்று ஆர்வலர்களுக்குத் தெரிவிக்கும் முயற்சியே இந்த இணையதளம்.
